This book is a tribute to the inventiveness and ingenuity of the great Hollywood film studios: Columbia, Paramount, MGM, Universal, Warner Brothers, RKO and Twentieth Century Fox. From the late 1920s to the early 1960s, these studios publicity departments created some of the most iconic images of Hollywood stars. The photographs in this book were originally produced by the studios to show the "real" lives of the stars, including Rita Hayworth, Humphrey Bogart, and Clark Gable, but were in fact carefully constructed and prepared.
